Our Members

President Elect

Jim is our President elect (2018-19).

Vice President

Greg is our current (2017-2018) president.

Greg joined Rotary in 2015, and currently holds the position of President-Elect for the 2017/2018 year, current board member, Light Up Bellingen projects team and has just taken on the responsibility of presenting a fortnightly newspaper column on behalf of the club.


Greg has served as MC on behalf of the club, most recently at the Community ICE forum held in 2017r, and has been active when available in hands-on local community projects and fundraising activities.

Working in the real estate sector, based in Urunga and servicing the entire Bellingen Shire, Greg is also a member of Urunga P+C committee, volunteers his time assisting Hungry Head Surf Life Saving Club at Sunday Nippers, volunteer assistant [when available] for his children’s sporting activities including Touch Football, Rugby Union and Jelly Bean Jazz dancing. He has previously been involved also in Junior Soccer and Little Athletics Urunga, and is an active member of the Urunga Catholic Parish, and the Urunga Chamber of Commerce.

Greg is married to Jodie and they have two children.

Secretary

Paul Cowley is our wonderful Secretary. He will provide some more information about himself soon.

Treasurer

James joined Rotary in 1976, and currently holds the position of Treasurer, current board member.

During his membership with Bellingen Rotary James has held the following positions: President four times, Treasurer for many years, a keen interest in Youth and community activities of the club. James has been part of the working group to establish the Bellingen Men’s Shed in Bellingen which for many years was auspiced by Bellingen Rotary, now that the Men’s Shed is stand alone James is an active member.

Rotary is part of who James is,  as he has been a committed and active member for 40 years.  James has taken on further roles at Rotary District level over the years which have included, Rotary Australia New Zealand for 5 years, Youth Exchange coordinator for 7 years, Assistant Governor for 3 years.

Having lived and worked and owned a business in the Bellingen area for most of his life, James is well known in many areas, he is married to Diana with four grown up children, several grandchildren and two dogs. Over the years James has remained involved in many aspects of our community and is currently a member of the Australia Day Committee. James loves gardening, riding his motor bike with Diana and other friends as often as possible.

Club Administration

Diana joined Rotary in 2003, and currently holds the position of Director Club Administration and is a current board member.


During her membership with Bellingen Rotary Diana has held the following positions: President twice, Treasurer four times and held director positions of Vocational, Youth and Membership. Diana also takes on the communication with the local High School to advise them of opportunities for students through Youth Exchange, Vocational studies, Public Speaking and other opportunities. Diana has been part of the working group to establish the Bellingen Men’s Shed in Bellingen which for many years was auspiced by Bellingen Rotary, now that the Men’s Shed is stand alone Diana is part of its executive as Treasurer.

Being committed to the ideals of Rotary Diana has taken on further roles at Rotary District level over the years which have included, Rotary Australia New Zealand for 5 years, Youth Exchange coordinator for 7 years, Assistant Governor for 3 years, and Youth Director for 3 years. Diana is also the current President of a not for Profit Association; Open Arms Care Inc. providing services to people in our communities through Ageing, Children’s and Disability Services.

Having lived and worked in the Bellingen area for most of her life, Diana is well known in many areas, she is married to James with four grown up children, several grandchildren and two dogs. Over the years Diana has been involved in many different sporting groups and still likes to keep fit and active and enjoys riding her motor bike with James and other friends as often as possible.

Stuart has been involved with Rotary for about 10 years both here in Bellingen and Armidale .
During that time he has held a number of positions in both clubs and was President of Bellingen club 2014/15.
Stuart is retired and has recently been volunteering in Myanmar, where  he has been able to initiate a number of projects with Bellingen Rotary’s support, with local groups including assisting a disadvantaged school with teaching aids and a programme of supplying sewing machines to a poor village to increase their economic abilities.
He has lived in Bellingen since 2010 and has been an active member of the community and enjoys the lifestyle the area has to offer.

Our Meetings

We meet at Bellingen Valley Lodge, (1381 Waterfall Way, Bellingen) on Thursday evenings.
Fellowship 6.00pm, Dinner 6.30pm.
